Most of you know that I'm married to a wonderful horsewomen, Micaela. If you didn't, you can check out her work at Love Horsemanship.
Recently, I moved to Colorado as she pursues her career and works as a protege for Linda Parelli.
For the most the part, I've always just photographed or filmed her for her business or education, but as I am around horses, horsemen and horsewomen more and more, it's become very interesting observing the culture and interactions. I think gender plays a huge role and that's what this project is about.
I'm beginning a series of photographs, portraits mostly, on Horsewomen and their impact on the equine culture, mostly in the world of natural horsemanship. This is about as much clarity as I can bring at the moment, but i'm sure as move through this series I'll more insight and observations.
For now, here's Juliette, see more here and expect more narratives on her later.
